Empowered to Succeed

This project provides a safe place for orphaned girls who have aged out of the government orphanage system. Those who age out are put on the streets or back with a dysfunctional family and are vulnerable to trafficking, and drug abuse. Since 2002, 160 young women have graduated from the program and have received education and life skills for living in society and to help break the cycle of orphans in Ukraine  –  and it won’t stop there.

We are moving into becoming a leader in community-based ministry focused on lessening the amount of institutionalized living in Ukraine and training Christ-centered families to care for orphans.

Project Goals

1. To provide orphaned girls who have aged out of the institutional system with spiritual and emotional recovery support, reintegration support, and a model of a healthy family.

Expected Outcomes
  1. Participants are spiritually and emotionally healthy.
  2. Participants are prepared through skill development and education support to transition to life in society in a positive and holistic way.
  3. Participants understand a healthy family model.

Formal Educational Development of Program Participants

In order to break the cycle of poverty and orphaned children, education is priority. The project aims to help each participant reach their appropriate educational goals and prepare them to participate and live in society and create a healthy family structure.

Spiritual and Emotional Recovery Support

Participants in the project are often in need of assistance to heal from past trauma. World Hope provides these services within the context of a family environment and with a Christian foundation, and also refers out to specialized professionals as needed.

“The love extended to the girls by Sergiy and Larrissa is infectious and is transforming their lives. Hearing the testimonies of those who have graduated the program and come back to spend time with their family warms the heart and is proof of the success of this ministry […] lives are being transformed to break the cycle of a poverty mindset and sets them free to raise their families and empowers them to contribute positively to their society.”
