Celebrate International Women’s Day with World Hope International!

Did you know that women do 2.6 times more unpaid care and domestic work than men? That one in three women are likely to face violence in their lifetimes, and that public services and systems are seldom built with women in mind? In fact, a recent article from The Guardian shows the disturbing consequences of the ways that women continue to go unseen.

At World Hope, we believe in empowering women and work to provide them with tools, resources, and opportunity. Sometimes that means working with a community to gain safe access to clean water; sometimes it looks like collaborating on an enterprise like mushroom farming or greenhouses or selling ice. It looks like anti-trafficking activism and providing trauma care, finding ways to keep girls in school, and building resiliency and providing emergency response in disaster-prone communities, where women and children so often bear the brunt of fallout.

We are working every day to empower women and girls around the world – and we want to hear from you, too! Whether they are women and girls close to home or far away, what are you doing to #EmpowerHer?

A Partnership of Hope

A team of delegates traveled to Liberia to see the progression of their partnership and rejoice in the ongoing opportunities that exist in the communities in which we serve.

Achievement Through Disability

Read Joan’s story of achievement through her disability as we celebrate both the International Day of Sport for Development & Peace and World Health Day.

You can #EmpowerHer with us by…

Sports Fundraiser

You can support our work through walking, racing, or running a marathon by finding us on Everyday Hero. Check out our webinar on using sports to donate to charities you care about! As adventurer, sailor, and WHI ambassador Sara Hastreiter said, “You don’t have to be an athlete. I personally don’t run; my knees don’t like it. I don’t want people to be intimidated by running… sometimes people walk. Sometimes people take treks to things like Mt. Everest basecamp…”

The Hope Fund

You can support the empowerment of women and girls around the world by donating to The Hope Fund. These gifts will enable us to continue to transform lives through economic empowerment, access to clean water, health and nutrition programs, anti-trafficking and gender-based violence efforts, emergency relief, and disaster resiliency and more. A gift to The Hope Fund today is a gift of opportunity for her tomorrow.

Child Sponsorship

Host a Child Sponsorship Day at your school, church, organization, or community group! Get materials and book one of our speakers to share how child sponsorship empowers the girl child globally. You can and learn about opportunities to partner with our Child Sponsorship, Enable the Children, Hope House, and First Step Centre programs. Contact us today for more information or to book your event!
